Our purpose
Education is a fundamental human right. And yet, many children around the world are being deprived of access to quality education and learning. Worldwide, 244 million children are still out of school and 70% of 10-year-olds are unable to understand simple written text. This situation has only been worsened by the pandemic which caused the largest disruption of education systems in history interrupting the education of more than 90% of the world’s children. Education for All is a social initiative that will use football’s biggest stage at the FIFA World Cup to drive awareness of the need to end education poverty. Working with UNESCO, it will harness football’s unique ability to bring people together whilst teaching life skills that expand children’s opportunities and teaching positive values from leadership and respect, to discipline and self-confidence. Football, like education, is for everyone. It is a powerful educational tool with global reach that can help us to move forward. FIFA and UNESCO will harness the global game and its biggest stage to empower the citizens of tomorrow.
